"Follow the yellow line" boots

Chaussons Mohair

Hello English speaking crocheters, thank you for visiting my blog.

Thank's to Kate, who have translated this pattern, here is the English explanation. I hope you'll enjoy it, and show us your FO!

Materials:

  • 2.5 skeins Mélodie de Bergère de France (45% mohair, 25% wool, 30% acrylic), used double
  • a small amount of a contrasting color for the border
  • 3.5mm crochet hook
  • wool needle for sewing up the ends
Method:

Begin at the toe point, crocheting the foot in the round. Do 3ch, and join with a slip stitch.

Row 1: 10 UK tr (US DC) in the ring
Row 2: 15 tr (1 tr, 2 tr in the same stitch)
Row 3 : 20 tr (2 tr, 2 tr in the same stitch)
Row 4 : 25 tr (3 tr, 2 tr in the same stitch)
Row 5 : 30 tr (4 tr, 2 tr in the same stitch)
Rows 6 to 14 : add 1 tr at the end of each row. You should end with 39 tr.
Continue flat, opening the boot at the top, for 6 rows. Add one stitch at the end of the first row, to make 40tr, then decrease one stitch at the beginning of each of the following 5 rows, to make 35tr across.
Do two rows without increasing or decreasing. In the 2 last rows decrease 1tr on each side of the central line. Fold in half and close the back of the boot with one row of (UK) DC(/US SC) in the two sides. Cut and weave in the end of the yarn.
For the leg, make 42tr in the top of the boot, starting at the front middle. Do one round joined, then two more that open at the front. End with a row of DC/SC in the contrasting color.

Edit about the yarn (for "Anonyme")
Mélodie is discontinued. Here are the information about that yarn in [Ravelry]
DK / 8 ply (11 wpi)
142 yards (130 meters)
50 grams (1.76 ounces)
20.0 to 24.0 sts = 4 inches
US 4 - 6 or 3.5 - 4mm
For substitution, for sure, I do not know all the yarns, so it's up to you, according with the gauge and yardage.
You can also try your slippers during making them, the pattern is really simple to adapt. Have fun.

Yellow Line Boots

You do not give the tension for the yarn, what is it please? I think Melodie is no longer available. Which yarn would you use instead.
Thank you
